hello buddies--

this is an exciting thing for Matte Black; We co-labeled with Lulette Scarves (http://lulette.com/) for Matte Black's Fall 2005 collection. This is a sneak-peek. I am too excited not to share with everyone!

the translation into English is, "Attention! I'm cold!"

These are a part of the Fall 2005 collection, which will be available for purchase in about two weeks for September-December delivery.

More wonderful Matte Black is to come, we are just putting the finishing touches on the men's and women's line, and Mark is getting the T-Shirt Gallery finely tuned and curated.

well matte black is lucky to be where it is. i mean, as of now, we are in very few, but very radical stores around these states united. as for our los angeles spots...

Apartment 3 on La Brea is an entirely neat-o spot decorated like.. an apartment. boys on one side, gals on the other, it's very cute. Kristen has been nice enough to give ol' matte black a whirl. today i talked with her to find out that Anne Heche bought a boy's tee shirt for her husband for valentine's day! so check the pages of US magazine, you just might see a matte black "necktie" t shirt...

also, the very fun to visit The Kids Are Alright on Sunset tells me that there is a chance a matte black boy's tee will be featured in a music video of sorts. If you are around Sunset ever, check out that store it's among our favorites. Look at Vanessa's adorable hand-made cupcake pins.

well i will keep this blog of ours posted on any future celebrity sightings. ha! like we're not celebrity enough.... don't you know who i am?

Today I am a new man. After countless idiotic spyware, adware and virus intrusions on my worthless doorstop of a PC computer, I awoke yesterday morning at 7am and headed for the Mac store to secure a Mac Mini. Today I am the most organinzed, efficient smooth operator in the world. I can never be stopped. I am a golden god. In addition to this, the first ever Matte Black basic long sleeve "Ira" shirt sample in grey has been completed. We now can prove that we are not lying about this whole company. Also, our sample for our "New Intetellectual" black pant has been completed which is actually white on account of the fact they will be worn by our very own super model Paul Wignall in the new Initium Eyewear campaign. This white pair will be our first couture piece only available for custom order from very select showrooms. On a private note, Mark, I think we should call the grey button up "Ira", and the black, "Roark". We'll talk about a "Coop" and a "book house boys" flanel in a more private setting.

our director of operations, the lovely judita, purchased red file boxes for herself and myself. i am so in love with this box, and i truely hope someone in our world can understand my sincere enthusiasm about home/office organization. i have spent this work day getting matte black all spruced up and ready steady for 2005. i even know what month we must file taxes. impressive, no?

i sit in awe.

the world of fashion turns out such hideous and offensive bile to the young and eager slightly over-blushed masses of american youth who put themselves in debt to buy low-grade synthetics sewn by 13 year olds trying to make a living. no one looks good in this crap because it is impossible to respectfully glorify anything with this offensive attempt.

the world of fashion turns out such harmoneous, fantastic feats of garment engineering to the young and eager slightly over-glossed masses of americans who live a more priveleged life who put to work their accountants to make appropriate payments to american express to sluff off thier most recent shopping day out, including the three o'clock refresher at the coffee bean, to buy these examples of what clothing can mean when the person behind the spec sheet throws a little bit of their heart into the satin camisole with pintucking in just the right spot. everyone looks fabulous in this... it celebrates, in a realistic and not cheesy or silly way, the human body and just how good people look when they are confident, and so were the fools scheming their outfit at conception.

it's a beautiful balance.

Lately, I'm thinking about the fact that molecules stick together. Especially when I wake up. The bed holds me. The floor is always there. It all works, everyone drives to work and then home again, and it all is held together by presuppositions and collective willpower. This is where we come in. We don't really work right. This is why we need fabric, silver gelatin, and paint. All of which have not one thing to do with our new faux office acreage. I will elaborate. I don't know that at this point in time we need an office. Our homes are cozy, our collective will is strong, and we have techniques to be envied for making crap into manure. But things have come up, plans have changed. We now need, for the sake of changing cable television history, a space which can accommodate humans, meetings, a dry erase board, various sketches, and collective willpower fierce as Wombats. There is my dads first team real estate office, but that is to easy, to gray. So that leaves Paul, our resident x super model who is now working for Sal in the arts of acquiring and re-distributing vehicles from those who have neglected assorted debts. (Notice the rapid bypassing of any other options).
Sal has a repo lot in downtown Long Beach near Wilmington, America's most 3rd world city. It is a 3 acre lot with various odds and ends including two fork lifts, a Mississippi river Dixieland paddle boat on trashcans, and several empty trailers with a few random employees that may or may not be living in them. One empty trailer, we have now decided, is to be called, "The Matte Black Creative Center for People Who Need to Create Their Own Jobs". "Matte Black" for short. I've taken on the task of acquiring the dry erase board, and I have decided to live in a state of complete awe that it all sticks together and that we almost have a good job we like.

Can we make a cool shirt out of this?

the search continues

paul and i spent a good portiono of our thursday searching for the perfect fabric for our pants. paul had had a little too much caffeine due to a migraine (attempt to rid himself of said ailment) so the pretty lady at the fabric showroom might have thought him a little.. um... tweaky. after a few deep breaths and a balance bar our young paul was feeling more like himself again.

this is one of my favorite parts of my job. fabric. my mom used to take me to look for fabric; she is an interior designer. so i guess i've just always liked it. it gets the wheels turning.

oh and by the way i got a parking ticket. i am always too cheap to just pay $6 to park in a lot. i really think it will work to go to the meter every 20 minutes. it caught up with me, the chase finally ended.

i cannot think of anything i'd like more for christmas than to get a matteblack t-shirt from one of us. not that i'm asking for one, hell, i printed them and i made a couple for myself already. maybe i can crank out a couple of new images to print before then. kind of a pre-release thing for people we love.

i have spent the last 4 days in a fever. sick, i mean. mark went out of town so i was home alone... ahh... me and turner classic movies. i spent two full days in and around 1942 and sewing my tooshie off for our humble yet eager matte black orders. fun fun fun. this is my life. i love it!! who else gets to let her kitties play with spools of thread and mill around eating toast on a work day...

So I'm living the dream. I drive around on a Black 1974 Honda motorcycle, I am part owner of Matte Black clothing, and I'm broke but don't care. More money means more taxes. Give me sexy clothes instead!
